The veteran writers usually don’t have any trouble acing their pitches, but Cracked does cycle through quite a few amateurs such as myself who get a few pitches accepted. The truth is that the Cracked editors are some of the most demanding people on the face of the earth. They don’t hold anything back in criticisms, and having your work slapped down stings. Senior editor David Wong is particularly harsh, displaying the social grace and tact of a battering ram. Even the smallest hint of disagreement or dissent against the editors is dealt with quickly and mercilessly. The workshop is a dictatorship, and the editors never let you forget it.
Those aren’t great rates, but your articles on Cracked are published with your byline and can link back to your own site. This makes the site a solid way to build your writing/comedy resume. That said, the site’s editors are exacting and expect that your stories will be funny, accurate and well sourced. So even though they pay decently, you’re going to spend more time writing each article too. First of all, I believed that this site was probably pretty popular, with a lot of visitors. And secondly, I believed that it was probably going to be pretty competitive to try to get anything published.
The article itself did quite well by Cracked standards, bringing in well over 1.7 hits as of this writing. That kind of traffic is almost impossible to comprehend. What I like about them is that they actually send you your payment within 24 hours of your article being accepted. It would have been much more better if you had some payment proofs to show because that is one among the ways people normally check to know whether a site is legit or not. You posted this on wednesday, hopefully you would come back with some payment proofs. You must submit an outline and a description of what you want to write.
Their general goal is to have a good mix of fun and substantive local stories of interest to local parents. Article earnings are negotiable, but they typically pay$50-$150per published article. They are willing to pay more for the right article and website aims to publish 2-3 guest posts per month. Wow Women focuses on women, writers, and a monthly theme. I am not sure what they offer in terms of a link back to your own content in the articles but they do link back to your site from your Author profile.

There was a ‘Write For Us’ button located right at the top of the landing page… so this page was pretty easy to find. Anyway, Here is what this part of the site looked like. So next, I decided to read through an article, just to see what I found. So this seems to be the purpose behind Cracked. It is an entertainment website, pure and simple. There is not much else to say about it… though I was, at this point, curious about the quality of the content.
It certainly takes more time to get an idea from the pitch stage to the front page on our site than sites with less rigorous editorial processes. But I don’t think anyone ever feels like they’re languishing. We go through the workshop every week and give official editorial feedback on every completed pitch .
Even if you don’t have experience and don’t have any portfolio to show to them you can still apply and they won’t turn your application down. In fact, they have mentioned it clearly that fresh people can apply openly and their application will be considered equally. They have a whole team of editors who will help you get in shape. Not only you can post articles but you can also create and share good and funny images and videos too.
