We seek to publish the highest quality content from our writers. The Artifice expects from its authors a constant source of complex, thought-provoking, and challenging ideas, and well-crafted opinions. Your knowledge of the topic you would like to write about is just as important as your ability to write about it. While we don’t put a firm limit on lower or upper word count, we encourage writers to aim for between 1,000 and 2,000 words. Moreover, we do request that all submissions be for one-off articles, we currently do not have the funding to support regular columns at this point.
Broad working knowledge of anime history, an expert on anime characters past and present. Contributors must invoice Anime Feminist and will be paid within 30 days of publication. We welcome submissions from potential contributors with disabilities which require extra accommodations we have not covered here. The strength of the pitch will be most important, and we will do everything in our power to help contributors turn an intriguing pitch into a great post. Please note that a series does not have to be licensed in English for us to accept a pitch on it, but all screenshots and translations must either be your own work or the work of an official release.
The Artifice is a long-form writing platform that covers a wide spectrum of art forms. We are looking for writers who can produce in-depth premium content with expert knowledge in one or more of featured categories. Anime Herald maintains a rate of $50 per article, which will be confirmed with contributors prior to commissioning an article. Contributors must invoice Anime Herald for this amount on publication, to be payable within 30 days of publication. Once edits are made, the updated article will be passed back to the author for a second run-through.
This includes those which challenge articles we have already published or the opinions of anyone on theAnime Feminist team. Apart from reaching those audiences, otakusmart is a community of people who live and breathe pop culture. Most otakusmart writers are pop culture geeks themselves, and we always talk about new games, anime recommendations, Kpop bias, and you’ll see the rest soon.
